The primary purpose of the Deaconess Ministry is to assist the Pastor and Deacons with the Ordinances of the Church. The Deaconess works to cooperate with the Pastor and Deacons to visit the sick, needy, and distressed members of the church. The Deaconess assists in the spiritual growth of the women and girls in the church. The ministry’s goal has always been to be servants of the Lord. In living to fulfill the goal, Deaconesses continue to study God’s Word and to be instrumental in bringing the lost to Christ. The ministry members work willingly and faithfully with our Pastor and the program of the Church, to help win souls to Christ. The scriptures related to this ministry’s purpose is:

Romans 16: 1-2 (KJV)“¹ I commend unto you Phebe our sister, which is a servant of the church which is at Cenchrea: ²That ye receive her in the Lord, as becometh saints, and that ye assist her in whatsoever business she hath need of you: for she hath been a succourer of many, and of myself also.”
